1/72nd Revell Halifax GR II

Image
Finished yesterday, definitely not one of my better ones but fun none the less. The Freightdog resin fits really well and corrects some of the flaws, but it's still a fun kit to build. The white was a real pain but it's a cracking scheme so worth the effort. Also a nice timely reminder as to why I rarely work in 1/72nd, the masking was a royal pain. Peter

1/35th Dragon Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf E, Tiger I (late)

Finished at the on 16th Nov  - OOB except Friulmetal tracks and Apoxie Sculp Zimmeritt. Painted with Ammo paints, and weathered with just about anything to hand. Definately one of the better Dragon kit's i've built only real pain was the Zimmeritt, and thats more repetitive than difficult. Peter

1/48th Focke Wulf 190 A-5,I./JG54Grünherz, Orel, Winter 1943

Finished this morning, built as a quick simple build after the Spitfire. This is the same aircraft as the Walter NOWOTNY scheme, but with a different pilot at a later time in Winter Distemper. This was done to try AMMO Washable White paint, which works really well. Painted with Gunze throughout, apart from the AMMO Washable White, and weathered with Oils. Peter

1/32nd Spitfire Mk VIII, 152 Sqn, Burma, 1944

Finished today, this is the Tamiya 1/32nd Spitfire VIII kit with extras from Barracuda, Eduard, Master, Quickboost and Radub. Constructed as one of 152 Sqdn's mounts from Burma in late 1944. Painted mainly with Gunze Aqueous paints, and weathered with pastels and oils. Mostly loved this kit, but the Engine cowlings are a pain ( might be due to the AM rocker covers), and some of the swappable parts are basically pointless. Also you are left with holes to fit the slipper tank. I am happy how it's turned out though. Peter

Amusing Hobby 1/35th VK 16.02 Leopard

Built OOB, painted with Ammo Paints then weathered with various AK, Ammo and Wilder potions, and Pigments and pastels. The kit tracks deserve special mention, plastic individual link tracks with pins that work !.                 Build thread is available  here   Peter

B-25C "Dirty Dora", 345th Bomb Group,Nadzab, New Guinea,1944

Accurate Minatures kit OOB, using the supplied masks and decals to do "Dora". "Dirty Dora" was apparently named after a woman met on leave by the pilot who had a 'colourful' sense of language. The woman in question did get to see the aircraft after the scheme was applied, and was singly unimpressed.   Painted with Gunze Acrylic for the Olive Drab / Neutral Grey, weathered with Mig Oils, True Details acrylic resins and pastels.                     Fun kit - only closing the fuselage and the dorsal turret causing any real problems   Built thread is available  here   Peter

Pzr IV H - 618 'Steffi", 12th SS Pzr Div HitlerJugend, Normandy June 1944

Dragon Kit, OOB, Painted with Tamiya Acrylics and weathered with Oils and Mig / AK / Ammo potions. Hated this kit  or more precisely the 'instructions' which were by far and away the worst i've seen, with a massive mixed box of bits from various kits. Spent more time hunting parts than building.
