Finished Sunday, a really quick build over the course of 2 weekends - made quicker when I dropped it and cracked the canopy, dislodged the Instrument panel and seat and lost the gunsight. Eduard's 1/48th P-39 from the MTO Dual Combo, this time as an Italian co-belligerent airforce. Really fun kit, as long as you don't drop it :-) Peter

1/48th Focke Wulf 190 A-5,I./JG54Grünherz, Orel, Winter 1943

Finished this morning, built as a quick simple build after the Spitfire. This is the same aircraft as the Walter NOWOTNY scheme, but with a different pilot at a later time in Winter Distemper. This was done to try AMMO Washable White paint, which works really well. Painted with Gunze throughout, apart from the AMMO Washable White, and weathered with Oils. Peter

Finished yesterday my OOB Revell Monogram Me410. It's a lovely kit, great fun to put together, with excellent cockpit detail ( better than the Meng Kit when I look at it - though the Meng kit has PE belts ). The canopies are the trickiest bit, but nothing some GS Hypo and patience can't sort out. The only additions are the fishing line for the radio wire, and a scratch front canopy opening when the original catapulted away when I was removing it again - it will undoubtedly turn up when i'm looking for the next bit I drop. I know the radio mast is bending slightly, but I don't want to stress the canopy by attempting to correct it. Painted with Gunze Aqueous throughout, weathered with Mig Washes, True-Earth paint fading and AK Interactive potions. Build thread is available  here . Peter

F4U-1D, 30th Servicing Unit, RNZAF

Finished today, the nice Tamiya F4U-1D Corsair built as an RNZAF example using Ventura Decals, otherwise OOB with just a couple of bits of wire on the engine. Painted with Gunze, then weathered with True-Earth products, Mig Oil washes, AK Interactive potions and Mig and AK Pigments to try and get the 'i've lived in the Solomon Islands' look. I like how it's turned out, as the Ventura decal instructions state that the dark blue had faded to very close to the intermediate blue and to my eye that's how it's turned out. Build thread is available  here Peter

A Quick build after the tomcat - a Hasegawa P-47D-11 Razorback, with some Sky Decals to avoid the quite old Hasegawa decals. The Hasegawa P-47 is quite nice, but the lower wing being a single piece always leaves a gap.  Painted with Tamiya Olive Drab and Neutral Grey, with Gunze for the interior green. Peter
