Revell 1/32nd FW-190-F8

Image
Finished today, Revell's new tool FW-190 F8, with Eduard Brassin Cockpit (which is brilliant), and HGW Fabric belts which I only bought when I lost one of the PE belts from the Brassin set.  The kit is about a 7 of 10 - Nice detail in places, but some parts especially the control surfaces are simplified. I also had issues with the Undercarriage snapping. I had to drill and pin the main landing gear struts. Painted with Gunze throughout, with Oil weathering Peter

Finished yesterday, definitely not one of my better ones but fun none the less. The Freightdog resin fits really well and corrects some of the flaws, but it's still a fun kit to build. The white was a real pain but it's a cracking scheme so worth the effort. Also a nice timely reminder as to why I rarely work in 1/72nd, the masking was a royal pain. Peter

Finished yesterday my OOB Revell Monogram Me410. It's a lovely kit, great fun to put together, with excellent cockpit detail ( better than the Meng Kit when I look at it - though the Meng kit has PE belts ). The canopies are the trickiest bit, but nothing some GS Hypo and patience can't sort out. The only additions are the fishing line for the radio wire, and a scratch front canopy opening when the original catapulted away when I was removing it again - it will undoubtedly turn up when i'm looking for the next bit I drop. I know the radio mast is bending slightly, but I don't want to stress the canopy by attempting to correct it. Painted with Gunze Aqueous throughout, weathered with Mig Washes, True-Earth paint fading and AK Interactive potions. Build thread is available  here . Peter
