Academy 1/32nd F-16I Sufa With Eduard Etched Belts and External set Finished this on Monday - I have very mixed feelings about this kit, it's very impressive but it's also somewhat variable. Being made out of a mix of kits the plastic and details are slightly variable, which makes things more interesting. The fit isn't bad, but does need fettling in places, and some of the engineering could be better. The Eduard seatbelt set is great, but the External set is completely pointless - the Afterburner parts which was the main reason that I got it simply didn't fit, being too wide to fit in the jet exhaust. 17pdr Self Propelled Gun 'Archer', Polish 7th Anti Tank Regt, 2nd Armd Bde Sorry for the delay - actually finished this in late December but forgot to put it on here. Bronco kit built built oob with the exception of an RB Barrel for the 17 pdr. Lovely kit with the exception of the workable tracks - they work, but they are way too fragile and spontaneously disassemble , next time i'd treat them like smart tracks and glue em which is what I ended up doing anyway. Finished yesterday my OOB Revell Monogram Me410. It's a lovely kit, great fun to put together, with excellent cockpit detail ( better than the Meng Kit when I look at it - though the Meng kit has PE belts ). The canopies are the trickiest bit, but nothing some GS Hypo and patience can't sort out. The only additions are the fishing line for the radio wire, and a scratch front canopy opening when the original catapulted away when I was removing it again - it will undoubtedly turn up when i'm looking for the next bit I drop. I know the radio mast is bending slightly, but I don't want to stress the canopy by attempting to correct it. Painted with Gunze Aqueous throughout, weathered with Mig Washes, True-Earth paint fading and AK Interactive potions. Build thread is available  here . Peter

Finished today - a nice simple kit that goes together quite nicely, though the auxiliary fuel tanks are pretty awful fit. The WIP is available  here Peter - who's now going back to aircraft again for a bit - they don't have tracks :-)

Well the epic build is over - this took forever ( 6 months ), with a 3 month break while I had to source a replacement canopy. Built using the Kit decals (which weren't great being honest), Aires Cockpit which is nice and fits, Eduard External etch set which has some great bits and some pointless bits, Orion vinyl MDC cord which is great if very fiddly and finally HGW Fabric Remove Before Flight tags which are nice. It's a nice kit, but is very fiddly in parts and a bit of a pain to assemble. It's a nice size for a 1/32nd Jet though, not too big. Painted with Gunze Aqueous throughout, weathered with oils and true-earth and pigments. build thread is available  here Comments welcomed as always  Peter

Finished today, the nice Tamiya F4U-1D Corsair built as an RNZAF example using Ventura Decals, otherwise OOB with just a couple of bits of wire on the engine. Painted with Gunze, then weathered with True-Earth products, Mig Oil washes, AK Interactive potions and Mig and AK Pigments to try and get the 'i've lived in the Solomon Islands' look. I like how it's turned out, as the Ventura decal instructions state that the dark blue had faded to very close to the intermediate blue and to my eye that's how it's turned out. Finished yesterday - the plastic on this kit fought all the way. Having  built the Academy kit before I didn't have the problems before so it seems to have been a 'Friday afternoon before going home' kit.  The Eduard Resin is very nice, but the instructions and fit could be better - this is compounded by the P-38 being a very awkward shape.    Painted with Gunze Aqueous and Alclad and lightly post shaded with Model Mates. Glad this is done now - next up will be some nice relaxing Tamiya therapy :-)   Build battle is available  here               Peter
