Focke Wulf 190 F-8

Image
Next up, a nice Eduard FW190-F8 Profipack. Not decided on which scheme to do yet, but it doesn't make a difference yet So work starts with the cockpit - slotted all the plastic bits together, then added some of the PE (the non pre-printed bits) Then added all the 'pre-printed' PE - ended up painting the PE anyway as Eduard have managed to get the RLM66 a different colour from the paint. Weathered the cockpit with some chipping, an oil wash and some dirt pigments. Not a bad mornings work Peter

Finished Pnzr 38(T) Ausf E

Image
Well i've finished the Panzer 38(T) Ausf E, done as a member of the 7th Panzer Division in France 1940. Great fun little kit, really enjoyed it

Pzr 38(T) Continued

Image
Today's continuation of the Pnzr 38(T) - the fun bits First I used some masks I cut with my Craft Robo to spray the divisional symbols Then I sprayed and weathered the exhaust Finally added the wheels and tracks

More Pzr 38(T)

started with the Panzer Grey. I'm trying the modulation technique for the first time. I've deliberately kept it quite subtle so far Then on with the tracks - Vallejo Track primer, Alclad Steel and Pigments and graphite pencil.

Trumpeter Pzr 38(T) Ausf E

Image
Current kit i'm working on, a lovely little Pzr 38(T) from Trumpeter in 1/35th Scale. Lovely detail, individual track links, and a nice early war tank (lots on rivets and nice angles). Where i'm at now is the primer stage with vallejo black urethane primer - the fun bit (painting) should start tomorrow.

Finished Crusader

Image
Well i've finished the Crusader today - a nice kit, the only real problem being the sheer size of the finished kit. As a sense of scale the carrier deck print it's stood on is A3 in size.

F-8E Crusader Work

Image
Well this is the final stages of my current project - a Trumpeter 1/32nd F-8E Crusader with an Aires resin Cockpit. Fun kit - huge though. Only real flaw is that the decals are missing for the Ejector warning triangles and Rescue arrows, but I printed some of my own It's not quite finished but getting very close:

New Shinies

Image
Well the couriers arrived with the minimum of fuss, which makes a nice change. It consisted of some new kits I bought with some prize vouchers. First a  1/35th Trumpeter PzKpfw 38(T) Ausf.E/F A 1/35th AFV Club IDF Shot Centurion And finally a 1/35th Hobbyboss M26 Pershing All look nice kits - I seem to have gone onto a clanky phase.

Waiting for deliveries

Why is that 48 hour express delivery always seems to take longer. My latest parcel has been in transit for two days now but still is in Norwich. It now has 5 hours left before it should be here ;-)

Introduction

This is a blog to document the random musings and progress regarding my favorite hobby - making plastic models, something very silly for a grown man to do. A lot of what is here will already be available on various forums, but in an edited form. This blog will hopefully (if I remember) capture the thoughts, frustrations and triumph's as I go, rather than at the end of day.
